About the BPT Area
Revival Project

The legend of the origin of Tržič is connected with a dragon; something special must have happened that at the confluence of the Mošenik and Tržiška Bistrica streams, at the entrance to the town centre of Tržič and among the steeply falling greenery from the banks (two hills), nests an island in the form of a drop . The exceptional location of the area of the former Cotton Spinning and Weaving Mill - BPT, a unique complex that combines the past and openly flirts with the future. The ancient Romans were already aware of the strategically important area of Tržič, an importance that it still retains today: a good 40 km to Ljubljana, 20 km to the airport and 12 km to the Austrian border.

The BPT area, whose urban characteristics are closedness and self-sufficiency, is important in several respects as an exceptional and the only preserved monument of technical and cultural heritage in Slovenia and, with the help of all those who care, it should become a crossroads at the end or beginning of a museum journey. Orderliness and planned logistical support will increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of the complex. Entrepreneurs and craftsmen who want to develop faster and create greater added value within their activities will find a place here. A market-interesting and dynamic environment will be created at its core by a network of planned diverse activities that will meet the social needs of employees and the local population.

We invite you to enter the future with us, and do you also dare to create it?
